This powerful memorial to the Commandos who lost their lives in World
War II has an appropriately magnificent setting overlooking the Ben
Nevis range in Inverness-shire in one direction and the former training
grounds of Locheil on the other. The monument was designed by Scott
Sutherland and was erected in 1952.
I hope the dramatic lighting compliments the power of the sculpture and
what it commemorates.
